Founder and inventor Charles Hedensten spent years in high-tech manufacturing R&D at Seagate and Conner Technology - companies producing hundreds of millions of units annually at extraordinarily low failure rates, while training and integrating complex technical processes across cultures and countries. That experience of true scale stayed with him. In 2001, he bought his first home, and the broader reality of stick-frame construction—its cost, its timelines, and the sheer effort required to get a house finished—felt inefficient and often exhausting, compelling Charles to find a better way.

That realization launched more than 14 years of research with industry stakeholders. With a core team that has worked together since 1998, the group shares a passion for new-technology development and the discipline required to reliably implement and scale it - reducing complexity in the systems and plans that bring resilient housing to market.
